Welcome to the April fishing report. We have found the fishing to be really good of late with lots of species be around at the moment. We start with King George whiting which have been resounding well after the recent winds and rough weather in the shallow waters with fish to 40 cm responding well to pipes and cuttle fish. Try the Aldinda grounds, Marino, Glenelg west beach and the deeper water of Grange tyre reef on dodge tides.
Gar fish are still running strong in boats and jetties from Christies to Glenelg using long life gents. The bigger fish seem to be hanging at the back of the burley trail and need to be coxed with moving bait. Try using burley nuts instead of pellets for a slower release in you burley pot weather jetty or boat based. This seems to work better than burley floats and allows you to work your baits better with more feel.
Squid are running from Marino to Hallet cove for boaters and port Noarlunga and rapid bay jetties. It is also worth rigging a live squid for king fish at rapid head for some great king fish action. Speaking of larger fish Blue fin Tuna are also coming from
Bream have been coming from the upper reaches of the
Big Tommies have started at
Finally the annual Mullet run is just starting best to use a good mullet mix along with a brand based burley in cages. This looks like being a good target for the Easter holidays with your kids from most local beaches try from
